Looking for something more thirst-quenching than water to drink? These tasty recipes will help keep you cool and quenched!
Simply drinking plain water may not be enough to rehydrate the tissues and cells, especially during the summer when physical activity during the hot weather leads to a loss of fluids through perspiration. It is important to replenish electrolytes to stay hydrated in the summer.
Raw apple cider vinegar and a pinch of sea salt provides electrolytes and trace minerals that your body needs. To add even more electrolytes, try Electromix, a natural supplement that can be added to water for extra potassium and other minerals. It works great for exercise, such as in our Hi-Energy Workout Drink recipe below.
Lemonade or Limeade Refresher
- 16 ounces of spring water or filtered water
- 2 Tbsp. raw apple cider vinegar (or to taste)
- 2 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice
- 24 drops of liquid stevia
- 1 pinch of sea salt
Combine all ingredients and store in refrigerator. Makes 1 serving.
Carrot Ginger Juice
- 4 large carrots
- 1 inch knob of fresh ginger root
- 1 inch slice of pinapple
- 1 apple
- 1 pinch of sea salt
Juice the fruits and vegetables with the ginger. Put in a glass and add the sea salt. Makes 1 serving.
ReHydration
Energetix’ ReHydration is specifically designed to help the body absorb water effectively and efficiently, assisting to reset the mechanisms which regulate fluid balance.
Adding 15 drops of ReHydration to a quart of water or the recipes above and drinking it throughout the day is an excellent way to begin the process of rehydrating the body and getting vital water back into the cells.
